I first fell in love with this artist on her US-debut album, 'Exodus', released in 2004.
Her name is Hikaru Utada, but in the US she's known simply as Utada. In Japan, her legions of fans often refer to her as "Hikki". Raised in NYC & Tokyo, her 1998 debut album sold somewhere around 23948723948732 billion copies. While 'Exodus' was pretty experimental and melded several genres - from alt-rock to Japanese folk to electronic - she wanted to go for a really mainstream sound on her new disc, dropping digitally in the States this month. It's called 'This Is the One'.
It's poised to be her US breakthrough.
After the jump is a remix video for her new single, 'Come Back to Me'. Keep in mind, this is a remix. The original is a r&b gem.

good to have you blogging. :) I like these cultural treats, but they cannot compare to the crack sandwich you showed me before or my new favorite US ice cream brand name "Slim-a-bear"... LOL ... keep up the blogging.
