Albuquerque, ABQ, or Burque, would have to be tops for me. I would love to live there PRIOR to retiring, in fact!
I absolutely love the combination of mountains, desert landscape, rich Southwestern culture and food, sunny days, and low-low humidity. The people are very friendly and the city is just the perfect size - big enough for plenty of art/dining/cultural/shopping diversions, but not so big it's overwhelming or hard to navigate. It's my favorite city I've ever been to.
